For years guitar amplifier manufacturers have been trying to emulate the sound of true valve amplification, cramming as much technology into one box as possible; Two channels, three channels, four channels, digital effects, programs, channel switching, midi, self biasing tubes, bright switch, gain switch, etc, etc.

At some point we forgot that the best sounding amps were simple basic valve driven amps which most of the time had one channel and were built by a human..

We believe that the amplifier is the very soul of your sound ! You can’t turn a bad sounding amp into a good one with pedals or effects. If the tone is not there to start with, it will never be there no matter how much you throw at it!

The sole purpose of the design is to provide you with a foundation of true, clean, loud, valve driven tone to build on. One that wont breakup or distort at medium to high volumes. One that will allow your expensive guitars to sound the way they should.  Our amps are simple in layout, high in quality and made by hand one at a time to suit you, the player.

SWD amplifiers are totally handmade, point to point hand wired, have 100 watts of pure clean valve driven power, two totally separate channels, each voiced for different guitar types and playing styles (foot switched externally if required), a tube buffered parallel effects send, selectable impedance switch and external speaker output.

The cabinets house two Celestion speakers built into a handmade cabinet, made from the best materials available. If you wish we can personalize your cabinets with your choice of selected vinyl coverings. They have strong steel bar handles a set of pullout castors and also a removable back panel for open or closed back operation.

The SWD POPE is available in a head & 2 x 12 box or  2 x 12 and 1 x12 combo  & now a 1210 (12″ & 10″ in our single 12 cabinet) combo version.

(All these are 100watt amps and will take an extension speaker)
