OUR NEW DIRTY CHANNEL
Introducing the new and improved SWD POPE 100watt Handmade valve amplifier.
We have made a few changes to our Amplifiers at SWD that we think your gonna like.
Although they don’t look a lot different we have made major changes that include the addition of a DIRTY CHANNEL, also what we like to call the PEDAL MODE and also a new EFFECTS LOOP.
Those of you who know the SWD amplifiers will know that we have always used only a clean sound for our amps (one of the nicest pure clean sounds around might I add) so in an endeavor to make our amplifiers more suited to more players we decided to add in a dirty channel.
This channel has smooth fat pure valve toned overdrive with lo and high gain settings via switch on the front panel which can also be switched via the footswitch. We have kept it plain and simple and easy to use with a volume, treble, mid, bass and gain control and one switch.
Another feature of our new amp is the addition of the new PEDAL MODE. What this allows is for players to be able to use the dirty channel preamp as a pedal so it can be run in conjunction with all your other pedals on the floor. The basic explanation is that it turns the dirty channel into a true valve driven pedal. , you can use your other pedals for different tones and you don’t have to use the effects loop for your delays and modulation effects. Anyone using true bypass loops, or boards like the TC Electronics G System or any board with a switchable loop in it can utilize this function and have the amps dirty channel programmed into their patches.
Our clean channel remains the same although we have made a few minor tonal changes which has improved the performance but still retains its luscious sparkling clean tube sound

Description
The Australian Made SWD amplifier range has been designed to provide you with pure clean valve driven tone as a base for your sound to be built on. This amp has been built using the highest quality components to give you years of trouble free use.
Our design & approach is to give you an amplifier that has sufficient headroom to stay clean at normal to high volumes. 100 watts may sound like a bit much power to some but for us it’s not about volume but more about HEADROOM. Some users will find that their 30, 40 or 60 watt amps sound great but when pushed will just not cut it and start to break up just at that point where they need a little more volume. Which generally turns your sound to mud. For some people this is great but for others it’s a disaster. Keeping our amp clean has also opened up some interesting possibilities for acoustic instrument use with our Switchable tweeter option. This allows you to use both electric & acoustic instruments through the same amp at the same time with very impressive results.
We like to keep our amps clean to allow your pedals and guitars to sound the way they should. We have provided a simple easy to read 2 channel layout which are both voiced differently and can be used in many different ways.
Our amps are all custom made one at a time by hand which gives you the flexibility to design an amp that suits your needs & playing styles & priced very reasonably against other high volume amplifier companies.
